After initially launching at Sycamore Meadows for the summer, the program expanded its footprint in 2022.

Through community, private and public partnerships we now offer summer programming across multiple Washtenaw County Locations, many in partnership with Avalon Housing. Our home base remains Superior Township, where we have been utilizing South Pointe Scholars since 2023 to provide year-round programming thanks to our support from Superior Township Parks & Rec. This location has allowed us to enhance and evolve our program offerings which have expanded to reading, dance and parental support.

Co-founded by Justin Harper, Jamall Bufford and Bilal Saeed, CLR Academy operates as a partnership between The Mighty Oak Project (501c3) and Washtenaw My Brother’s Keeper (WISD).
